Philip was a cheerful, curious, and energetic little boy. He was always full of ideas for games and activities and could easily brighten everyone's day with his smile. At kindergarten, he was well-liked and enjoyed spending time with his friends. He loved playing with his family, playing video games, riding his skateboard and scooter, and spending time with his beloved dog. He dreamed of starting basketball training. In September, he was supposed to begin his final year of preschool, something he had been eagerly looking forward to.

Unfortunately, at the beginning of June 2026, Philip was diagnosed with medulloblastoma. The tumour was almost completely removed during surgery performed at the Polish Mother's Memorial Hospital - Research Institute in Łódź. This was only the first stage of his treatment. Philip still faces further challenges, including chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

"Philip has already started chemotherapy, so we are currently spending more time at the Department of Pediatrics, Oncology, and Hematology at the Central Clinical Hospital (CKD) in Łódź than at home. Following the surgery, he developed mutism and weakness on the right side of his body, which means he now requires daily rehabilitation and assistance with many everyday activities," his mother says.

The next stage of Philip's treatment will be proton radiotherapy, which will involve numerous trips to Kraków, where the specialist centre providing this type of treatment is located. This is another demanding stage of his journey that will require careful organisation, time, financial resources, and tremendous strength.

Philip still has many months of treatment and rehabilitation ahead of him. We believe that, step by step, he will regain his strength, return to spending time with his friends, and once again enjoy all the activities he loves.
