Another volumetric pump was donated to children with cancer.

The CADD SolisVIP ambulatory volumetric pump is designed for various types of drug infusion, including continuous delivery, PCA, and PCEA. It ensures the accuracy of drug delivery. The pump uses an easy-to-use and intuitive interface, so that parents can operate it with no difficulty after a short training period.

The pump, which can be used outside the hospital, makes treatment much easier. Its great advantage is its small size — the size of the palm of the hand — which makes it easy to move around with. The pump ensures accurate administration of medication to the patient outside the hospital environment, which — above all —  has a positive impact on the patient's wellbeing. This is of great importance in the fight against cancer. The possibility of using a pump during the individual treatment of each child is decided by the doctors. The use of the pump reduces the need to move around, which saves time.

The main treatment still takes place during hospitalisation. For this reason, the pump was placed at the disposal of the Paediatrics, Oncology, and Haematology Clinic at the Medical University of Łódź, where it is being made available for further use of the BRAVE small patients.

This is the third outpatient volumetric pump purchased by the "Krwinka" Foundation for Children with Cancer. We hope that in the near future, such modern equipment will be available in most paediatric onco-haematology clinics in Poland.
