May 26th is a special holiday, emphasizing the important role of a mother in a child's life. Proximity, tenderness, a kind word bring to mind the security that the parent wants to surround her child with. When a child has an oncological or hematological disease, this is a very difficult task.

 

Long-term treatment is full of many challenges that young patients, but also their caregivers, have to face. Permanent stress sometimes makes them forget about themselves, wanting to give the best to their children.

 

The Foundation for Children with Cancer Diseases "Krwinka" celebrated Mother's Day in wards VI and VII, as well as in the One-Day Ward at the University Center for Paediatrics. M. Konopnicka, CSK UM in Łódź, giving gifts to wonderful mothers who are currently watching over the beds of their little-great heroes.
