GRANDFATHER'S FIGHT FOR A BETTER TOMORROW: JIM CLARAHAN'S INSPIRING MISSION

When doctors diagnosed a brain tumor in just-year-old Drayson in 2019, his family went through a real storm of emotions. Then Jim Clarahan, the boy's grandfather, immediately took action. He founded the Draysontate Children's Cancer Research Fund (DCCRF) and gave birth to the Ride 4 Dray and Run 4 Dray campaigns, which can be read about at https://www.ride4dray.org/.

Jim Clarahan is no ordinary activist. First of all, he is a grandfather who wants other children not to have to go through what his grandson did. Dray was diagnosed very late, and doctors failed to recognize lipodystrophy - a symptom that could indicate a brain tumor - for a long time, which made treatment significantly more difficult.

Jim, determined that lipodystrophy - that is, emaciation and wasting of the body - would be forever remembered as a rare symptom of a brain tumor in children under five years of age, decided to set off on a journey to disseminate knowledge on the subject across America and Europe. On his motorcycle, he traveled through 37 countries - including Poland - to meet with experts in the field of diagnosis and treatment of childhood cancer and to raise funds for related causes. Thanks to his involvement, the "Krwinka" Foundation also received support - for which we would like to thank both Jim and RSM Poland, which made a donation of PLN 20,000. We remain very impressed by Jim Clarahan's determination and courage. Supporting his mission is not only a gesture of solidarity, but also an investment in a better future for sick children.
