On November 11 at 11:11, the 2nd Independence Run, organized by the 1st Stefan Żeromski High School in Ozorków and the Regional Computer Science Center in Kraków, set off along the streets of Ozorków. This wonderful initiative gathered 300 participants, 44 sponsors, and many city residents and sports enthusiasts in front of the school building. Taking part in the run was also a great way to celebrate the 106th anniversary of Poland regaining independence. That is why the start was preceded by a joint singing of the Polish national anthem, which additionally emphasized the ceremonial nature of the event.
The organizers prepared 5 types of runs so that everyone could find the right category for themselves. For adults, there was an 11,800 m route and a 5 km Nordic Walking march. The youngest could also take part in the event, covering routes of 200 m (for children aged 4), 500 m (for 5-7 year-olds), 1000 m (for 8-11 year-olds) and 2000 m (for youth aged 12-15).
The participants were also treated to unique attractions, including a photo booth taking pictures with Józef Piłsudski, a Berlinkowóz with hot snacks, and thanks to the involvement of women from rural housewives' associations from Leźnica Wielka, Solca Wielka, Pełczyska and Żeronice, as well as sponsors, grilled dishes, soups and homemade sweets were provided.
Both the organizers and the participants were guided by noble ideas. The effort they have undertaken aims to promote patriotic values, a healthy lifestyle and to raise funds to support children with oncological and hematological diseases, the beneficiaries of the “Krwinka” Foundation.

Thanks to the generosity of the event participants, over 14 thousand zlotys were raised to help the little Oncoheroes.
