- We want to integrate our communities: school, military with the community of the city and surrounding areas, but above all, we want to help sick children. For this purpose, we invited the Krwinka Foundation to cooperate, which collects funds for the most needy children - says the director of the 1st Secondary School, Anna Plaskota.

After singing the Dąbrowski Mazurka, the patriotic run took place through the city streets. It took place in three age categories. In addition to adults and youth, forty-three children under 10 years of age also took part in the 0.2 km and 0.5 km distances. Fifteen participants ran in the 11-15-year-olds category, and as many as 188 adult competitors took part in the main race. Soldiers from the 31st Military Economic Unit in Zgierz and the 1st air cavalry battalion also took part in it. The youngest participant of the event was born in 2022, and the oldest is 72 years old.

Age was no obstacle for anyone, because everyone had an extraordinary goal.

- We are grateful to the organizers for wanting to allocate the proceeds from the run to the "Help for Start" program addressed to the poorest families, who can receive a refund for medicines, travel, non-reimbursed medicines, specialized equipment and psychological and pedagogical support for the first year of their membership in the foundation - he informs director of the "Krwinka" Foundation Dominika Śliwińska. Events such as today's are very important to us because thanks to them we can also expand the community that is involved in activities to save the lives of sick children - adds the director of the foundation.

The patrons of the Independence Run included the Starosta of Zgierski and the Mayor of Ozorków, who donated medals and cups, as well as the Marshal's Office in Łódź and the Ozorków Commune.
