The end of the year in Poland is an exceptionally festive period. We celebrate Christmas in quick succession, but also the arrival of the New Year. This is a special time for the whole family. Unfortunately, not everyone will be able to meet their loved ones. There are sick children who will spend this special time in the hospital. Especially for them, the Foundation for Children with Cancer Diseases "Krwinka" organized the Christmas Eve, in accordance with all current restrictions.

This year's Christmas was not typical again due to the prevailing pandemic. Both the charges, their guardians, medical staff and employees of the "Krwinka" Foundation miss meetings, traditional Christmas caroling or breaking the wafer. As the President of the "Krwinka" Foundation, Elżbieta Budny, says - "It is very sad that this year also I could not personally wish to those for whom our foundation exists. Our children, however, need to know that we are with them and we try our best to make this magical time pleasant for them. Santa cannot take the youngest, so he, as our messenger, of course wearing a mask and examined, set off with gifts ”.

In this way, all children staying at the oncology departments of the University Center of Paediatrics M. Konopnicka in Łódź were given wonderful gift packages. The Foundation also organized Christmas Eve meals for whole families staying in the hospital. Just like last Christmas, each child and the parent staying with him received a Christmas kit, which included traditional mushroom soup, dumplings, fish, Christmas cakes and fruit.
