At the age of six, Igor underwent complex cancer treatment after being diagnosed with stage IV rhabdomyosarcoma of the left testicle. Following surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy, his treatment was successfully completed in April 2017. However, the therapy left Igor with long-term complications, including kidney damage.

 

Years later, Igor is facing cancer once again. In July 2026, now 17 years old, he was diagnosed with a malignant bone tumour — chondroblastic osteosarcoma — located in the right iliac bone.

 

The tumour in Igor’s pelvis is approximately 13 cm in size. However, after detailed examinations, doctors determined that it may be possible to remove it completely. Igor immediately began intensive cancer treatment and is currently undergoing cycles of chemotherapy aimed at shrinking the tumour and preparing him for complex surgery.

 

Igor still has a long road ahead of him. In addition to chemotherapy and the planned surgery, his treatment requires close monitoring of his kidney function, as well as physical rehabilitation, which will be essential to help him regain mobility and return to everyday activities following pelvic surgery.
