It is often she who gives the little Oncohero the strength to go through a long process of oncological treatment, and despite difficult challenges, to pursue their passions and dreams. The "Krwinka" Foundation, observing the brave Mothers standing constantly by their children's side, decided to appreciate their perseverance and invaluable role. To make them feel noticed and cared for on the occasion of their holiday. That is why each Everyday Heroine received a gift and best wishes, coming straight from the heart.
Mothers staying with their children in oncohematology wards often forget about themselves - completely focused on the health of their children, they stay with them constantly, not paying attention to their own fatigue or needs. These elements, additionally combined with constant stress, uncertainty and separation from the rest of the family, can negatively affect well-being.
The “Krwinka” Foundation wanted to bring joy to these brave women and remind them that their needs are equally important. Both mothers from the One-Day Ward at the hospital on Sporna Street and from the Wards for younger and older children, which were recently moved to the Central Clinical Hospital complex on Pomorska Street, received sets of high-quality facial cosmetics. The gifts were not only to make the mothers feel appreciated and beautiful. Their goal was also to encourage them to find a moment for themselves, during which they would calm their thoughts, find respite and gain positive energy. Additionally, the team of psychologists paid special attention to building positive relationships among mothers. We made every effort to create a friendly space for a calm conversation and exchange of experiences. This type of initiative, although seemingly simple, has great value. It is this that proves that no family struggling with an illness is alone.
Onkomams are exceptionally strong and persistent women - Heroes of everyday life, in the hospital reality. They really have a lot on their shoulders: 24/7 care, disenchanting reality, facing the painful, unpredictable and surprising. Every day they find great strength in themselves to watch over their child's bed and give them courage. That is why our priority is to bring joy to their hearts and make them feel appreciated.
