Blood Cell - Foundation for Children with Cancer - THE EIGHTEENTH VACATION FROM THE HOSPITAL IN HORNOVO BEHIND US!

On July 16-27, 2023, a rehabilitation and recreation session was held in Rogów for children with oncological diseases undergoing treatment, their parents and siblings. Special surprises were the visits of many amazing guests, including actresses Julia Kamińska and Magdalena Czerwińska and actor Piotr Głowacki, who reached young patients on the initiative of Sans Souci Konferencje together with the Przegoń Raka Dla Dzieciaka Association, financing this year's holiday trip.

The "Krwinka" Foundation for Children with Cancer has been organizing rehabilitation and recreation sessions for many years, which allow children and parents to forget about the difficulties of everyday treatment and make new friends. Being surrounded by a special microclimate, outdoors, with peers and other parents, has a motivating effect not only on oncologically ill children, but also on their loved ones. Staying near an area located in a former forest habitat involves organizing activities that cannot be carried out in a hospital space on a daily basis.

At the same time, thanks to qualified psychological and pedagogical staff and medical care, all participants are provided with comprehensive care, which is particularly important during trips for children who are undergoing therapy or immediately after it.

– Tournaments have been very popular for many years and are a very important part of the Foundation's activities. Within just a few days, we notice a clear improvement in the children's well-being, which persists long after their return. Professional teaching staff and medical care supervise the participants, and those qualified for the trip, treated in clinics throughout Poland, remain in constant contact with the attending physician. Creating safe and comfortable conditions outside the hospital is crucial for us, emphasizes Dominika Śliwińska, director of the "Krwinka" Foundation.

During each trip, the long-awaited part is the visit of special guests who, through their involvement, create unique experiences that give the brave oncoheroes priceless hope and strength to realize their dreams. This year, participants were especially thrilled by famous Polish actors: Julia Kamińska, Magdalena Czerwińska and Piotr Głowacki, who read the book "Treasure Island", introducing brave oncoheroes to the mysterious world of explorers. Then they took part in preparations for a field game, the aim of which was to search for a unique treasure. Everyone experienced a lot of positive emotions that will remain in their memories for a long time.

– It is a great honor for me to be able to visit the children during the stay, spend time with them having fun and having warm conversations. I am glad that I can give them at least a little joy and hope. I received a lot of warmth and positive emotions from them, which I take with me - emphasizes actress Julia Kamińska.

The 18th rehabilitation and recreation session took place thanks to the great commitment and determination of the Przegoń Raka Dla Dzieciaka Association, which raised over PLN 100,000 for its implementation as part of the extreme run (1,000 km in 6 days).

– An organized stay gives children a break from the hospital walls. During the trip, they are with their parents and siblings, with whom they cannot be with on a daily basis due to many months of difficult stay in hospital. In Rogów, they have fun and take part in attractions provided by the "Krwinka" Foundation. This is what childhood should look like - says Małgorzata Hawel from the Przegoń Raka Dla Dzieciaka Association.

During twelve unforgettable days, participants took part in rehabilitation classes and massages, which were a permanent part of the trip schedule. Thanks to the wonderful hearts of many wonderful people, both children and parents took advantage of a lot of unusual attractions: there were two full-day trips to the Łódź Zoo and Klemens Orchards, the Fire Department arrived, as well as members of the Brotherhood MC Poland Chapter Łódź motorcycle club.

Once again, we realized that we are surrounded by great people on whom we can rely. We are very happy that the "Krwinka" Foundation brings together fantastic Friends on whom it can always count!
