During the training meeting, participants got to know the pillars of the activities of the "Krwinka" Foundation for Children with Cancer, as well as the organization's staff. They found out what types of volunteering they can participate in and familiarized themselves with the nature of work in particular sections. Then came time for exchanging experiences and integration, which increases the involvement in helping children with oncological and haematological diseases, their parents and siblings.
For many years, volunteers have been supporting the activities of the "Krwinka" Foundation in various ways. Depending on the type of preferred activities, they can participate in various social activities related to education and information, as well as in charity projects (active volunteering). At the same time, at the age of 18, they can support young patients in oncohaematology wards at the M. Konopnicka University Pediatrics Center at the Central Medical University of Lodz (medical volunteering).
Hospital activities are related to filling children's free time with fun, playing board games together or having a friendly conversation, which positively affects their well-being. At the same time, it allows parents to rest during a long stay with their children in the hospital.
